I know that the amount of time and money that goes into each tattoo and nail polish must be amazing but somehow the prospect of finishing one makes me feel all friggin’ guilty.

“Most of these are not terrorists, no? Now tell me that if, we had a network of web cameras, you could be sure that every time a lone wolf tried to leave their hometown to carry out a horrific act like this, that network would have recorded the whole thing. “The fact of the matter is: since the terrorists are motivated by ideology, and not only hate, they usually create their own online community for themselves.” Cyber security expert Bill Graveland said there are a number of ways

So, a couple nights ago, my wife and I were watching Jo-Jo Rabbit and there was a minor character, a young, bumbling nazi, that shared my last name. The next day I started listening to an audiobook I had been waiting to check out of the library. It’s a story of an oppressed race of humanoid rabbits living in modern day England. There is a human in the book who also shares my last name, involved with a group that fights for rabbit equality. He cut his thumbs off in solidarity with the oppressed rabbits. This is not the sort of book I would generally have chosen and I have no recollection of whom or what recommended it. And then it’s the next day and I am flipping through the Instagram, see a post, a photograph of some piece of shit’s house covered in all sorts of different white power/ alt right/ nazi flags and one of the commenters had a handle that shared both my first and last name. I was flipping through his feed and noticed he had purchased a felt bird from, and had his photo with, a street artist I know that sells her birds, mostly pigeons (I am a pigeon enthusiast and father of 14 rescue pigeons) in Washington Square Park. I sent him a photo of Tina and I and we started texting. After a few DMs, he asked if I had lived in a basement in Seattle. This seemed like the question of an amateur, airport red lion, psychic but he followed that up with did I know someone named Brock? This Brock had contacted him at some point, thinking he was someone else with the same name. I told him that, while my memory of my roommate years are cloudy, I never lived with a Brock. He later sent me Brock’s Instagram and he thought he went by Milo. Well, yes, I did live with a Milo and remember being fond of him and, to a lesser extent, his girlfriend Stephanie. So I read some of this blog and thought, god sure works in mysterious ways but reconsidered, if this is his work then god works in very stupid ways and should go do something useful rather than devise not particularly valuable (no offense) coincidences . So, anyway, good to see your face and your orange cats. Now that I have caught you up on the last three days, I expect an email catching me up on the last 25 years.

Remember stocking the freezer of melted Ben & Jerry’s ice cream? Cherry Garcia, mostly. And Terry was pissed at us and said we had to throw them away.
