They’re not targeting an audience they’re trying to manipulate. It’s not a corporate money grab, in our opinion. I think they’re learning how to find and reach people who are vulnerable and then exploit them for profit. There’s a lot of other people who are doing that to a certain extent, but I don’t think the Doom-level mind control is the greatest form of exploitation, even if it’s not illegal. [laughter]

Should you go to see the show? I would, and I hope many other people would too. We recommend going to see it if you enjoy watching well-written crime television. We like to think it’s a bit of a guilty pleasure.
